Obituary

Marjorie E. Amato, 95, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at UP Trinity, Rock Island.

Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island. Those wishing to attend, meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026. Memorials can be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.

Marjorie was born March 9, 1930 in Geneseo, the daughter of Harold and Rhoda (Johnson) Sieben. She was a 1948 graduate of Rock Island High School and was a stenographer in the Medical Department at Royal Neighbors of America. She married Anthony (Tony) Donald Amato on November 3, 1951 in Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband (February 6, 2010).

Marjorie was a member of Grace Church. She enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Mark (Lisa) Amato, Dyer, IN; grandchildren, Justin (Kerry) Amato, Trinity (Tim) Wangler, two step-grandchildren Stephanie Fairbanks and Kristen Miller; great-grandchildren, Taryn and Max Amato, Bryn, Ellie and Ethan Wangler, Jonathan Schlechte, Everett, Elodie and Emaline Fairbanks; and a very special sister, Janice Carder of Peoria. Additionally, nephews Darrell (Jean) Amato, Todd (Dawn) Amato, David (Jean) Carder, and Scott (Marlene) Carder.
