Marjorie P. Turnbull, 96, of Rock Island passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Silver Cross, Rock Island.

Live-streamed services will be at 11:00 am Friday at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island and can be viewed at https://youtu.be/A-W0bgPl4j4. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am Friday at church. Private inurnment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be left in care of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church or Disabled American Veterans Charity (DAV).

Marjorie was born on August 17, 1925 in Toulon, IL, a daughter of L. Vernon and Leota (Sweat) Porter. She married Lee Turnbull on August 17, 1948 in Toulon, IL and he preceded her in death. She worked as a 2nd grade teacher for many years with the Rock Island School District. Marjorie loved volunteering with UnityPoint Hospice and Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed helping tutor her students and was an avid Illini fan. Her greatest joy in life though was her "three wonderful children" and her very special grandson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Richard Turnbull, Florida, Lynn Turnbull, Geneseo, and John (Brenda) Turnbull, Rock Island; grandson, Jordan Turnbull, Davenport; and siblings, Lee Porter, and Nadene Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee and parents.
