Mark Alan Holmes, 52, of Hermosa Beach, CA, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 16, 2014 at his home. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Jack Holmes and by his stepfather, Donald Thompson. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Thompson, Sebring, FL; his brothers, Michael Holmes (Debbe), Champaign, Michael Thompson, Moline, Joel Thompson (Brenda), Rock Island; and a sister, Donella Thompson Anderson (Jerome), Macomb. He also leaves behind four nieces and five nephews as well as an uncle, Ken Moran (Mary) of Elgin. He will be missed by his many friends. Mark graduated from Moline High School and the University of Northern Iowa. Graveside services will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow at Windmill Family Restaurant, 1190 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline. Memorials in Mark's name may be made to: Fr.
