Mark V. Mandle, 65, of Rock Island, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services are 10 am on Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation is 4 to 7 Tuesday at the funeral home.  Private inurnment will be at a later date at the Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for his grandchildren.

Mark Vernon Mandle was born Aug. 31, 1952 in Rock Island, a son of Stanley and Alta Anderson Mandle.

He graduated from Sherrard High School and in earlier years worked at the family business, Anderson-Mandle Grain Co., Milan.  Mark later worked as a sales associate for Aid Association for Lutherans (A.A.L.) and was currently employed at the Walmart Store in Moline.

Mark was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and he passed this love on to his children and grandchildren.  He enjoy volunteering and assisting with area projects such as Habitat for Humanity, having been part of the first homes built in this area.  Mark also found great satisfaction in joining family members in their volunteer activities as well, assisting with downtown Davenport events and the St. Ambrose Wine Festival to name a few.

Survivors include his children, Christopher (Kristen) Mandle, Rock Island and Catie (Joe) Ryan, Moline; grandchildren, Blake, Grant, Jude, Stella, Conner, Bailee and Abigail; and brothers, Bruce, Ross, Dean and Norman Mandle and their families.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
