Mark David Ptacek, 63, of Milan, passed away Monday July 24, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A service celebrating Mark's life will be held at 11:00am Sunday July 30, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. The family will greet friends from 10:00am to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the family.

Mark was born on June 15, 1960 in Rock Island, the son of Michael Y. and Marilyn J. (Laude) Ptacek. He married Helen Allison on August 16, 2008 in Rock Island.

Mark had been employed by Reynolds Manufacturing as a CNC Machinist.

He loved spending time with his family, boating, camping and racing. Mark was a loyal Miami Dolphins fan. Mark was an avid animal lover. He and Helen rescued dogs, Mojo and Gus, and Chains the cat.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; mother, Marilyn Ptacek; step sons, Jerick Cooper and John Cooper; grandchildren, Dragan Cooper, Whisper Cooper, Wynne Cooper, Kaiden Cooper and Ethan Cooper; sisters, Mary Jo Ptacek and Marge Ptacek; brother and sister in laws, Shirley & Gary Schneider, Mike and Donna Allison, Rene and Joe Burden, Mitch and Diane Allison, Mark and Connie Allison; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Ptacek; father and mother in law, Dale Allison and Shirley Gunter.
