Mark R. "Skip" Anderson, 56, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday March 5, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, IA. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Memorials may be made to Mayo Clinic in appreciation for the exceptional care Mark received there.

Mark was born July 17, 1960 in Maquoketa, IA, the son of Glenn L. Anderson and Janice D. Trimble Anderson.

Mark was a talented carpenter and member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 166, Milan. He loved his trade and enjoyed his work throughout the years.

He also enjoyed fishing, boating, music and going to concerts. He will be fondly remembered as a friend to all. He especially enjoyed spending time with his Kavanaugh's Hilltop family at "the office".

Surviving are his children, Kesha England, Silvis, Amber Bradley, Davenport, Ashley Anderson-Foster, and her husband Damien, Moline, and Colton Anderson-Bradley, Moline; grandchildren, Justis Cady, Izaiah Coulter, Natasha Beck, Jesse Chapman, Bentley and Bryson McIntire, and Liliana Foster; mother, Janice D. Mills, Rock Island; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Daniel Verbeke, Milan; and nieces, Danielle (Shawn) Geyssens and Jennifer (Matt) Fuhr; and additional family and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his father.

Mark's family wishes to thank Drs. Wong and Grey, as well as the staff at Genesis Infusion, Oncology and ICU for assisting Mark in his battle.
