Martha J. Nathan, 84, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport, Iowa.

Martha was born on December 27, 1941, in Oxford, Mississippi, a daughter of Paul Sr. and Rosa Lee (House) Hilliard. She married Otto Earl Nathan on October 5, 1993, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Together they shared 26 years of marriage before Otto's passing in 2019. Martha was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. In her free time, she enjoyed visiting the casino, doing crossword puzzles, dining out with family and friends, and listening to the blues.

Those left to cherish Martha’s memory include her children, Diane Carothers, Kenneth (Valerie) Hilliard, Ruthie (Craig) Davis, and Mallissa “Lisa” (Rory) Davis; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mary Willingham and Paul Hilliard Jr.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Otto Nathan Jr.; and siblings, Alma, Earl, Clarence, and George Hilliard.
