Obituary

Martinez Horne, 55, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday June 24, 2026 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 12:00PM Thursday July 2, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. The family will greet friends from 11:00AM to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to his children in care of his daughter Teaonna Nimmers.

Martinez was born on December 22, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Calvin Gardner and Annette Brown.

He attended Simeon High School and had been employed at Kraft Heinz for several years.

Martinez was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed sports, especially Chicago sports teams, was a stylish dresser, loved his cars, loved his family, and loved playing cards.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Lashanika Jones, Martinez Horne Jr., Teaonna Nimmers, Martinez Horne McCaw, Martionna Horne, Marcques Nimmers Horne, Jemmerio McCaw, Ricardo Horne, Deangelo Horne, Reginold McCarthy; 10 grandchildren; father, Calvin; sisters; Carolyn Horne, Carmelita (Curtis) Horne-Reed, Tequilla (Timothy) Horne-Newsone, Terry (David) Kelly, Chicago, Monica (Dusty) Brooks, Chicago, Adrienne Garner and Kesha Lyons; and his brothers, Wendell Horne, and Young Calvin Garner, Jr.; several nieces and nephews, and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by mother, Annette; brothers, Ricardo, Angelo, Felipe, and Calvin; sister, Rhonda; and uncle Heywood Gardner.
