Marty L. Jones, 70, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his home.

A live-streamed funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021 and can be viewed at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. In accordance with public gathering guidelines, capacity limitations will be observed along with face mask and social distancing requirements. Private burial with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

Marty was born on August 1, 1950 in Rock Island, a son of Ernest L. and Mary F. (Whitfield) Jones. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked as a computer technician. Marty attended Greater Galilee Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of an independent pool league for over 20 years.

Those left to cherish Marty's memory include his daughters, Paulette (Melvin) Hall of Loganville, Georgia, Pamela Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, and Monique Jones of Sacramento, California; grandchildren, ShaVonta Jones, Renika Conner, Arkee Jones, Aubrieana Mordecai, Amari Jones, Ahmonde Byrd, and Justice Jones; great grandchildren, Chandler Jones, Elijah Trent, Arkee Jones Jr., Bailey Smith, and Carter Goss; siblings, Marilyn "Sister-Mom" Sutton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bobbie Jean (Mike) Kelly of San Antonio, Texas, Cheryl McQueen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Elois (Robert) Wilson, William Jones, and Theresa (James) Jones of Rock Island; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Marty was preceded in death by his son, Marty L. Jones Jr.; parents, Ernest L. Sr. and Mary F. Jones; brother, Ernest L. Jones Jr.; and sister, Brenda Miller.
