Marva Ann Johnson, 68, of Rock Island passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at St. Anthony's Rehabilitation and Nursing, Rock Island.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service is pending at a later date. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Marva was born on March 5, 1955 in Wilmont, Arkansas, a daughter of Amos and Janie (Rent) Johnson. She was a homemaker for her entire adult life, taking in many foster kids over the years. She had a big heart and always loved caring for others. Her favorite hobby was playing cards. Marva confessed in Christ at an early age and was a member of Destiny Worship Center.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Ellery Stewart, Jeremiah Taylor Johnson, Crystal Berry, and DeMario Johnson; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Nadine Lowe, Fred Johnson, John Lee Johnson, and Martel Fulton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Chavez Johnson; and siblings, Mary Johnson Russell, Lillie Muriel Johnson, Claude Johnson, Velma Monney, Roy Lee Johnson, and Joyce Johnson.
