Marvetta M. Jones, 71, of Reynolds passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Reynolds Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in care of the family.

Marvetta was born on March 14, 1953 in Morrison, IL, a daughter of Marvin and Delores (Schmidt) Birely. She married Harold Jones on June 26, 1971 in Reynolds, IL. Marvetta worked as a receptionist within the healthcare field for many years.

Marvetta's hobbies included collecting American Girl dolls, having lunch with classmates, reading and spending time with the grandkids. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island.

Those left to cherish Marvetta's memory include her husband, Harold; children, Melissa (John) Cook, Amy Barnett (Chris Flowers) and Kevin (Pam) Jones; grandchildren, Taylor (Dejoun) Hampton, Katie, Caleb, Emmy, Nathan and Micah Jones; great grandson, Jedediah; siblings, Warren (Debbie) Birely, George Birely, Gail (Lance) Burket, Dale Birely and Terry (Tommy) Kerr; and a host of extended family.

Marvetta was preceded in death by her parents and dog, Molly.
