Marvin Edward Remrey, 89, of Reynolds passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private memorial service is being scheduled for a later date. Memorials may be left in care of Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Reynolds is assisting the family.

Marv was born on December 28, 1933 at the family farm in Clinton County, IA, a son of Edward and Lilian (Lage) Remrey. He graduated from Dewitt High School and went on to join the Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. There he met his first wife, Kris. He later married Nancy Englund in 1984 and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2020.

After his discharge from the Army, he sold tires to the Nascar Racing Circuit before settling at Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Company. At Iowa Illinois he was a gas serviceman and retired as a supervisor. He spent years as Chairman of the Board for the Iowa Illinois Credit Union. He also served as Mayor of Reynolds for many years in the late 1990's and early 2000's. He enjoyed watching Nascar, football, and basketball. He also enjoyed fishing in Wisconsin and he assisted his wife in her popcorn business, Nancy's Corn.

Those left to cherish his memory include his stepchildren, Judi Morrison Swain, and Scott Morrison; 6 grandchildren, Kyla Swain, Lauren Swain, Robbie Swain, Abbie Swain, Cade Morrison, and Chloe Morrison; sister, Shirley Remrey Poole; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; and stepdaughter, Kari Morrison.
