Mary Frances Franks, 84, of Decatur, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Generations at McKinley Place, Decatur. Services for Mrs. Franks will be 11 am, Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Mary Frances Threadgill was born on November 25, 1934 in Brilliant, Alabama, the daughter of Burgess and Linnie (Ashmore) Threadgill. She married Dalton Franks on September 6, 1952 in Mississippi. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2018. Mrs. Franks was a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Moline. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and cooking. Survivors include her children, Andrea (Thomas) Johnson, Elmwood, IL., Stanley (Deanna) Franks, Camanche, IA., Cheryl (Wm. David) Hardy, Decatur, IL.; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and two siblings. Mrs. Franks was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dalton; a grandson; a great granddaughter; and five siblings.
