Mary S. (VanHecke)Lambert, 67, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014, at Fort Armstrong, Rock Island.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mary was born November 27, 1946, in Rock Island, the daughter of Harry and Francis (Reese) VanHecke. She worked at McCabe's Department Store until they closed in 1985. Mary was very involved in politics and was a polling judge.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Sera Lambert and Megan Leahy; grandchildren, Hannah, Jonah, Zachary, Justin, Tristan, Daniella, and Harrison; siblings, Michael VanHecke, Regina (Milder) Buckman, and Colleen Winters; and was loved by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Becky, Kris, Colette, and Tim; and her best friend of 50 years Rita (Toots) Hendon.
