Mary A. Roling, 88, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, with burial to follow at National Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island in Mary's memory.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family with services.

Mary was born on August 28, 1932 in Galena, IL, the daughter of James and Mary (Keleher) Nolan.  She married Herman Roling on June 9, 1956 in Savanna, IL, he preceded her in death on March 1, 1993.  Mary worked for the Rock Island Arsenal until her retirement on April 2, 1993.  Prior to working at the Arsenal she worked at the Illinois Bell Telephone Company.  Mary was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.  Her memberships include: St. Pius X 50 Club, St. Vincent De Paul Society of the Church, former board member of Moline Christian Women's Club, Rock Island Women's Club, NARFE, and two governments retiree's clubs.  Mary was also a past hospice volunteer, and an avid giver to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Mary is survived by her brother and spouse, James "Ed" (Mary) Nolan, Clinton, IA; nephews, Edward Nolan, Clinton, IA and Bradley (Sarah) Nolan, Clinton, IA; nieces, Theresa (Steve) Petro, Brentwood, TN; great nephews, Cody and Connor Nolan and Nathan and Tyler Petro; great niece, Taylor Petro; sister-in-laws, Catherine and Teresa; and other loved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Roling; and her parents.
