Mary L. Price, 84, of Elkhart, Indiana, formerly of Milan, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Elkhart. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be at 10 am Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Visitation will be from 9-10 am Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in care of Teach Others Also, Inc. or Goshen Church of Christ, Goshen, IN. Inurnment will take place at Beulah Cemetery, Orion, IL.
Mary was born in Moline, Illinois on December 27, 1939, a daughter of Cleo D. and Gladys V. Simmons Patterson. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1957 and received her word processing certificate from Blackhawk College in 1984.
Mary married John A. Price on July 2, 1960 in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2011.
Mary farmed with John in the Taylor Ridge, Illinois area when they were first married. They moved to Milan in 1973. Mary enjoyed her family, country music, cooking and baking. She generously shared her culinary delights with family and friends.
Mary worked as a data entry operator for John Deere and Co. and Modern Woodmen of America. She volunteered at Alternatives for the Older Adult (ring for care program) in Rock Island, hosted many Christmas parties for the Boy Scouts (in the late 70's) and served as caregiver several years for family members.
She was a member of Goshen Church of Christ, Goshen, Indiana and Modern Woodmen of America.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bradley (Teresa) Price, Elkhart, IN and Barbara (Mark) Miller, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Jinkerson, Suisun City, CA, Connor Miller, Atlanta, GA and Christina Miller, Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Lee, Emalyn and Elena Jinkerson; and sisters, Janice Smith, Parrish, FL and Sarah Israel, Milan, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Carol Avery and brothers, James and Jessie Patterson.
