Mary F. Pilcher, 74, of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Silver Cross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Moline. There will be a rosary prayed at 3:30pm on Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will follow from 4 to 6 pm. Private burial will take place in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Rapids City. Memorials may be made in care of St. Mary Catholic Church, Moline or the Alzheimer's Association.
Mary Francis Sisk was born on August 16, 1941 in Moline, a daughter of Joseph and Frances Winkelbauer Sisk. She attended Alleman High School and graduated with the class of 1959. She married George "Bud" Clay and he preceded her in death. She later married Richard Pilcher in 1983 in Rock Island. Over the years, Mary worked for Bell Telephone, Davenport and also several area restaurants including Harold's on the Rock. She retired in 1999.
Mary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Moline. She enjoyed traveling to visit her family, fishing, cooking, baking and playing cards and board games.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; children, Bridget (Steve) Lichtig, Solon, OH, Paula (Vince) Piper, Frisco, TX and Rachel Farmer, Rock Island; step-children, Robert (Joy) Pilcher, Colona, Rick (Nicole) Pilcher, Princeton, Iowa and Tammy (Jason) Quick, New Liberty, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and many other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Clay; brother, Robert Sisk and sister, Christine Dail.
