Mary "Linda" Schmidt, 83, of Peoria, IL passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Apostolic Christian Home, Morton, IL.

Private graveside services will be held at Edgington Cemetery, Edgington, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in care of Edgington Cemetery or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Reynolds is assisting the family.

Linda was born on April 4, 1940, in Mattoon, IL, a daughter of Leonard and Martha (Spitz) Miller. She married Bruce Schmidt on June 24, 1961, and he preceded her in death. Linda spent her life caring for others and staying home to raise her three sons. Her hobbies included gardening, crafting, and spending quality time with her family.

Those left to cherish Linda's memory include her sons, Barry (Kim) Schmidt, Bloomington, IL and Craig (Sandy) Schmidt, Peoria, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Bill Miller.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband; son, Mike Schmidt; and sister, Ann Laycock.
