Mary J. Spurgetis, 92, of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 in Rock Island. Services for Mary will be 10 am, Tuesday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Mary was born on January 25, 1925 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, a daughter of James Spurgetis and Nickoletta Kasteliotes Spurgetis. Mary worked at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, retiring in 1985. Later she worked for Andich & Andich Law Firm, Rock Island, retiring in 2008. She was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Rock Island. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Survivors include her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews; a sister in law, Colette Spurgetis, Rock Island.
