Maryann R. Battin, 91, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Maryann was born on August 9, 1933, in Rock Island, a daughter of Julius and Mary (Purchell) Rock. She attended Rock Island High School. Maryann married Arnold D. Battin on May 9, 1972, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2006.

Maryann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and playing cards. Above all, Maryann loved spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish Maryann's memory include her children, Deborah Goossens, and Gerald Jacobs; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Maryann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; son, Carl Jacobs; brother, Paul Rock; sisters, Dorothy Haring and Margaret Gossen; three infant brothers; and one infant sister.
