Max E. McMeen, 80, of Milan, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at his home.  A memorial service for Max will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Max was born March 20, 1937 in Galesburg, Illinois, a son of Bruce V. and Martha (Gillette) McMeen.  He married Dorothy Downard on March 29, 1959 in Galesburg.  Max was a supervisor at the Pinnacle Corporation for over 30 years, retiring in 1992.  He loved spending time with family, traveling all over the U.S., collecting things to store in his garage, and woodworking.  Max was an avid Goodwill shopper, often sharing his treasures with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy; children, Kevin (Darla) McMeen, Davenport; Bruce (Lori) McMeen, Davenport; Scott McMeen, Milan; Kurt (Theresa) McMeen, Bettendorf and Karl (Tammy) McMeen, Colona; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Gary McMeen, Kentucky; Randy McMeen, Rock Island and Cinda Matter, Rock Island.  Also surviving are many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy; sister, Linda Turner and his parents.
