Maxine K. Walston, 98, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Moline.

A graveside service will be 10:30 am at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island on Monday, April 13, 2015. Those that want to be present at the graveside service may meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island by 10:00 am to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline Food Pantry.

Maxine was born January 19, 1917, in Genoa, Nebraska, the daughter of Elgin and Lena (Nelson) Kissell. She married George Walston on October 19, 1935 in Rock Island. Maxine was employed at Servus Rubber as a machine operator and moved to I.H. Harvester where she later retired. Maxine enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.

Survivors include her sisters, Donna (Terry) Hamrick, Rock Island and Fay Lawrence, Kansas/Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and her partner Tim Foutch. She was preceded in death by her husband George Walston; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
