Merle E. Sipes, 78, of Milan, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at his home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 East 4th Avenue, Milan with visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Andalusia, Cemetery with military honors. A memorial fund will be established.

Merle was born August 13, 1947 in Andalusia, IL the son of Marjorie (West) Sipes McDonald

Merle was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from International Harvester.

Merle was a member of American Legion, Milan and Eagles Club. He was an avid billiards player where he traveled and won competitions, and loved to fish especially with his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his children, Jessica Sipes, Moline, Thomas Sipes, Springfield, IL and Ryan Sipes, FL; grandchildren, Andrew, Brailey, Cayden, MacKenna, Kamryn and Raelynn. He was preceded in death by mother and sister, Roxanne Portagee.
