Michael F. Alvin, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Michael was born on June 19, 1940 in Helena, Montana, the son of Lawrence and Ethel (Connelly) Alvin.  He married Marie Treftz on March 17, 1967 in Rock Island.  He last worked for TriCity Heat Treat as a continuous furnace operator.  Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, and listening to country music.

Michael's family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses at UP-Hospice for their care and compassion given during this time.

Michael is survived by his wife, Marie Alvin; children, Michael Alvin Jr., Terry Alvin, Tina (Stefana Keeleymeyne) Alvin, Gary Alvin, and Sean Alvin; grandchildren, Todd (Chasidy) Gustafson Jr. and Mariah (Roy) Kline; 7 great grandchildren; and sister, Mary Heart.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.
