Obituary

Michael E. Bulens, 68, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Graveside service with military honors by VVA – Chapter 299, will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at National Cemetery, Rock Island.  Family and friends who want to attend the graveside service, are asked to meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island by 9:30 am to process to the cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Parkinson's Association, or for his grandchildren's college education.

Michael was born on May 7, 1954 in Rock Island, the son of Charles and Patricia (Terry) Bulens.  He graduated from Alleman High School in 1972, and went on to get his Associates Degree from Blackhawk College.  Michael was a proud veteran serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.  Michael retired in 2012 after 40 years working at the Rock Island Arsenal as an Information Technology Operations Division Chief.  He enjoyed playing golf, volleyball, softball, and basketball.  Michael was an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Green Bay Packers fan.

Michael is survived by his son, Christopher (Samantha) Bulens, Moline; daughter, Pamela Eastwood, East Moline; grandchildren, Juliana Eastwood, Elliana Eastwood, and Beau Bulens; sister, Kathleen Sparks, Milan; nieces, Stephanie (Jason) Rursch and Heather Sparks; great nephew and nieces, Brayton, Kynlee and Emma; and friend, Terrie Jordan.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
