Michael D. Dawson, 68, Hinesville, GA, passed away Monday October 5, 2015 in Savannah, GA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11am Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be from 10am to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors by Moline American Legion Post 246.
Michael was born on November 23, 1946 in Rock Island, the son of Harry "Pat" and Bernice Dawson.
Mr. Dawson had been employed by the Federal Government for over 30 years, working at the Rock Island Arsenal before being transferred to Savannah, GA.
Michael was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Hinesville American Legion Post 168.
Survivors include his daughter, Carley; her mother, Sally; stepdaughter, Bridgette, 3 grandchildren; siblings, Patty Logston, Linda Nichols, Bill Dawson, Dean Dawson and Terry Dawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne, Jim, Raymond; sisters, Irene, Mary Anne, Dorothy and Shirley.
