Michael R. Ehrmann, 62, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday May 4, 2018 at ManorCare, Davenport, Iowa.
A memorial service will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, prior to services. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Genesius Theater Foundation, Rock Island Park Board or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Michael was born May 2, 1957 in Rock Island, the son of Herbert and Jean Huntington Ehrmann. He graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1975. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later received his Associates Degree from Black Hawk College. He married Dorothy "Dotti" Cunningham on October 2, 1993 in Rock Island.
Michael did social work for many years. He also volunteered in the community garden program in Rock Island, and was a former member of the Genesius Guild.
Michael was an avid gardener, hiker, fisherman, camper, and fan of the Blackhawks, Cubs and Packers. He enjoyed anything outdoors, barbequing and great beer. He loved science fiction, "good books and bad TV".
Surviving are his wife, Dotti, of Rock Island; sons, Joshua Ehrmann, Rock Island and Christopher (Louly) Ehrmann, Coal Valley; grandchildren, Aden, Lily, Louis, Calvin and Anja Ehrmann; parents, Herbert and Jean Ehrmann, Moline; sister, Linda (John) Soto, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; nieces and nephew, Amber, Nikki and Katelyn and Bryan; Uncles, Bob Ehrmann, Santa Barbara, Calif. and Ron Ehrmann, Manhattan Beach, Calif; and father-in-law, Jeffree Cunningham, Rice Lake, Wisc.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; brother, Richard Ehrmann; and mother-in-law, Elsie Cunningham.
