Michael "Mike" G. Massey, 76, of Muscatine, formerly of Illinois City, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Funeral services are 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Reynolds. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be in Illinois City Cemetery.

Mike was born July 24, 1947, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Roy Glen and Louise Imogene (Guthrie) Massey. He graduated from Rockridge High School in 1965. Mike married Linda Fuhr and to this union, three children were born. Mike later married Gerry Evins and she preceded him in death. Early on, Mike was the owner and operator of Mike's Grocery and Feed in Illinois City. Among all his jobs, however, he enjoyed most of all working side by side with his buddies on the railroad. He recently worked at Jumer's Casino.

Mike enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and golfing. He also loved watching Western shows and was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his daughters, Jami (Marty) Kistler, and Jacqueline (Steve) Kleis; grandchildren, Cameron, Laiken, Nicholas, Gabriel, Addison, Isaiah, Ethan, and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Alaura, Jon, and Connor; brothers, Don (Joanne), Jack (Rhonda), and William (Cindy) Massey; and special care giver and friend, Edik, from Lutheran Living.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gerry; son, Lincoln; and sister, Glenda.
