Michael Edward Kean, 67, Jacksonville, FL and Rock Island, IL passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island. There will be a visitation from 12-1:00 PM with a memorial service following at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 11, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Private inurnment at Calvary Cemetery in Rock Island. Memorials preferred to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, a charity Michael donated to frequently.

Michael was born on May 12, 1955 in Moline, IL to James and Leona (Groene) Moss. He was later adopted by Andrew Kean. He grew up in the area and graduated from Rock Island High School.

Michael was united in marriage to Debra (Moseley) on August 4, 1984 in Rock Island. The couple moved to Jacksonville in 1985 and shared their time between Florida and Rock Island.

Michael worked as a truck driver for many years, until medically retiring from Coastal Industries in 2003.

He enjoyed golfing and was an avid car enthusiast who liked going to car shows and owned several corvettes. He was a talented poet and a music lover, especially Neil Diamond and Lionel Ritchie. Michael was also an animal lover, dachshunds and snakes in particular. Family was very important to him; he attended many reunions and coached his sons' little league teams when they were young.

He is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Michael (Tammie) Kean, Matthew (Kristy) Kean, Mark Kean, Jamie Sanchez; sister, Donna Mae Kean (Ron "Boomer"), brother, Mark Moss; grandchildren, Michael, Taylor, Isabella, Logan, Manuel, and Adela; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Linda Kean.
