Michael D. "Big Mike" Lingafelter, 75, of Milan passed away Thursday July 7, 2016 at his home.

A Memorial visitation will be held 2:00-4:00pm Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, followed by a gathering celebrating his life at Kavanaugh's Hilltop, 1228-30th Street, Rock Island.  Michael requested his body be donated to the University of Iowa for scientific study.

Memorials may be left to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan or the University of Iowa Medical Center.

Michael was born on February 23, 1941 in Rock Island, the son of Clarence and Ellenor (Howie) Lingafelter. He married Kay Milligan on June 6, 1964.

He had been employed as a crane operator with I.U.O.E. Local 150. Mr. Lingafelter was also the owner of Big Mike's Inc., Rock Island from 1993-2004.

Michael was a life member of Local 150 and member of Rock Island Elks, Friends Circle Club and a former member of Rock Island Moose Club, East End Club, Moline and the Rock Island Eagles.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; children, Hiedi Goodnight, Michael J. Lingafelter, David B. Lingafelter; grandchildren, David, Heather, Jaidyn; siblings, Danel Lingafelter, Sylva, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James L. Lingafelter; brothers, Neal and Terry Lingafelter.
