Michael W. Schroeder, 57, of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made in care of Alleman High School or to the family.

Michael William Schroeder was born on July 5, 1958 in Rock Island, a son of Donald and Colette Mortell Schroeder. Michael graduated from Alleman High School in 1977 and later attended Augustana College. He married Kathryn Circello and they had two children together.

Michael owned and operated his own cement finishing business, Concrete Maintenance Co., for over 22 years. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island and Laborers Local #309, Rock Island.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Andy (Jessica) Schroeder, Johnston, IA and Elizabeth (Cody) Collins, Cape Coral, FL; parents, Donald and Colette Schroeder, Rock Island; siblings, Thomas (Kathy) Schroeder, Anna Johnson, Ed (Cindy) Schroeder, Patrick Schroeder, John (Tara) Schroeder, Kathleen (Matt) Anderson and Paul (Annette) Schroeder; 18 nieces and nephews and many other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pauline and Leo Mortell and Genevieve and Wallace Schroeder.
