Michele L. Breiby, 62, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her home.  A memorial service for Michele will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7 ^th Ave., Rock Island.  Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the family for her grandson's education fund.

Michele was born November 1, 1955 in Rock Island, a daughter of James J. and Marjorie A. (Redpath) Mapes.  She married Douglas Breiby on July 4, 1987 in Rock Island.  She worked as an information technology specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal for 27 years.  Michele enjoyed traveling, swimming and spending time on the beach in Florida.  She loved her grandchildren and cherished every minute spent with them.

Survivors include her husband, Doug; children, Eric (Linda) Roelens, Rock Island, Anthony (Heather) Roelens, Rock Island, Michael Roelens, Sr., Rock Island and Megan Breiby, Rock Island; grandchildren, Michael Roelens, Jr., Isabelle Roelens, Ariana Roelens, Emi Roelens, Alexander Breiby and Noah R. Breiby; sisters, Lisa (Jerry) Polito, Monica Mapes, Rebecca Breiby, all of Rock Island and Kelly DeBo, Moline; also surviving are many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Angela Steele and a brother in infancy, Jimmy Joe.
