Mildred R. Cunningham, 86, of Rock Island, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity, Rock Island.  A Mass of Christian Burial in Mildred's honor will be at 10:00am on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. at  the Wheelan - Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Following the funeral mass, cremation rites will be accorded.  Memorials may be made in care of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.

Mildred Ruth Cunningham was born on January 20, 1930 in Rock Island, the daughter of Louis and Mary Blanche Pfiffner Cunningham.  She graduated from nurses' training and worked at the former Franciscan Hospital.  She had also worked at several doctor's offices before her retirement in 1974.

Mildred was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.  She greatly enjoyed crafting in her earlier years.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, John Cunningham, Rock Island; 3 nephews; 3 nieces; 14 great nieces and nephews and 10 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Jeanne; brother, William and a sister in law, Jeanne.
