Mildred M. "Grandma Millie" McNabb, aged 90, of Rock Island, formerly of Moline, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Arcadia Nursing Home in Rock Island.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL. Prior to the ceremony, family and friends will gather for a visitation from 10:30 AM until the time of service. A private inurnment will be at Rock Island Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to The Love Hope Project c/o The Gathering Church in Moline. They sponsor about 135 students in Zambia, Africa for school, and they provide water wells to villages in Zambia. Mildred and her son, Dave, went in on the first well 15 years ago, and now there are 23 wells that have been built.

Born on October 27, 1935, in Moline, IL, Mildred was the cherished daughter of Jack and Marjorie (Crow) Viviani. She united in marriage with Robert McNabb on October 8, 1977, in Rock Island. A diligent worker, Mildred, dedicated 47 years to keeping Boeye Realty and Mel Foster Company clean, slowing down only a year ago at the remarkable age of 89. Her unwavering work ethic and commitment to her job serve as an inspiration to all.

Mildred’s warmth and compassion touched all who knew her. A devoted matriarch, she took immense pride in her family, often hosting Sunday meals where everyone was welcomed to her table. Her famous Hershey’s Coco fudge became a staple at holiday gatherings. She could always bring people together around a full table of food which spoke to her love of family and friends. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, deeply woven into the fabric of her character.

Mildred’s legacy will live on through her adoring family, including her children, David (Cindy) Sheil, Bob Sheil, Tom Sheil, and Karen (Billy) Franks; her 22 grandchildren; her 16 great-grandchildren; and her 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Joanne (Jack) Dunlap and Susie (Dwight) Wagner, along with numerous other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Judy Codling; and her siblings, Ginny Fuller, Liz Sansale, Jack Viviani, and Mary Lou Udy.

As we gather to honor Mildred’s life, we encourage all who knew her to share stories, memories, and laughter, celebrating the beautiful soul who touched our hearts so profoundly. She will be remembered not only for her unwavering love for family and friends but also for her indomitable spirit and kindness.
