Mildred E. Starks, 93, of Harrodsburg, Ky., formerly of Rock Island, died Monday, October 24, 2016.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Those wishing to attend should meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, by 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Mildred was born in Trenton, Mo. on April 29, 1923, the daughter of Ernest Inlow Griffin and Hazel Shuman Griffin.  She married Charles V. Starks in 1947 in Rock Island.

Survivors include her children (and spouses), Nancy O. Starks, Provo, Utah, Charles C. (Kim) Starks, Texas, Debbie L. Starks, Harrodsburg, Ky. and Kurt (Irma) Starks, Rock Island; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
