Mildred D. Reed, 91, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday November 19, 2014 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab, Rock Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Mildred was born November 10, 1923 in New Orleans, La., a daughter of Albert and Josephine Johnson Green. She married Robert L. Reed in Louisiana in the early 50's. He preceded her in death in 1975.

For many years, Mildred enjoyed going to lunch every Tuesday with her friends from the Arsenal. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, dogs and family time.

Surviving are her children (and spouses), Royal (Sharon) Cotton, California; Maurice (Tammy) Reed, Rock Island, Reginald (Barbara) Reed, Rock Island, Robert L. (Linda) Reed, Jr. and Wanda Smith, both of East Moline; grandchildren, Darshika (Victor) Reed-Mahonie, Maurice Reed Jr., Rashanda Reed, Royal Cotton Jr. and Justin Reed; great-grandsons, Davian Thomas, Daniel Garcia, Deonte Reed-Garcia and one great-granddaughter, Amada Cotton; and brother, Albert (Muriel) Green, Jr. , New Orleans, La.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, Alberta Scott.
