Mildred D. Trout, 81, of Rock Island, passed away on January 8, 2015 at home. Per her wishes, private family visitation will be held. Cremation will follow visitation and burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Those who wish to attend burial services may meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 16. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Mildred Defane Smallwood was born on October 19, 1933 in Shelbyville, MO, a daughter of Russell and Alberta Hayes Smallwood. She married Ellry A. Trout on May 6, 1956 in Rock Island.

Mildred was a homemaker for her husband and sons. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and baking for family gatherings and gardening.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Larry, Rock Island, Martin, Rock Island, Timothy (Deborah) Trout, Davenport, Iowa, Clarence (Brenda) Trout, Moline, Ellry (Rosann) Trout, Jr., Hillsdale, and Russell (Chrystal) Trout, Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, Timothy Jr., Bill, Jennifer, Daniel, Nichole, Michael and Kaylee Trout; great granddaughter, Erin Trout; and sisters, Ruby, Elizabeth and Katherine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellry; a granddaughter, Carrie Trout and 5 brothers.
