Millard E. “Mike” Dooley

Millard E. “Mike” Dooley, 87, of Milan, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

At this time there are no services planned. Memorial donations may be left in Mike’s name to QC Paws or Unitypoint Hospice.

Mike was born on May 15, 1939, in Centerville, Iowa, to Millard and Charlotte (Morse) Dooley Sr. Following his graduation from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. In April 1961, he married the love of his life, Shirley M. Doxsee.

Mike dedicated more than 26 years of service to Eagle Foods in Milan before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, visiting casinos, attending horse races, and spending time at Scooter’s. Above all, Mike cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Missy (Brian) Smith of Rock Island, Mike Dooley of Nebraska, Paula Cooper of Milan, and Patti Dooley of Milan; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Forest Hall of Florida; sister in law, Cheryl Doxsee, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley; his parents, Millard and Charlotte Dooley; one brother; and one sister.
