Millicent "Millie" Christensen, 97, of Ankeny, Iowa, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Saturday July 1, 2023 at Rock Creek Assisted Living Center, Ankeny.

Graveside services will be 1:00pm Friday July 7, 2023 in Rock Island Memorial Park Chapel. Entombment will follow in Rock Island Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Millie was born on January 13, 1926 in Guthrie Center, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Coral (Bosier) Schoonover.

She had been employed for over 22 years with Mercy Medical Center as a nursing assistant.

Millie loved spending time with her family and friends, decorating for the holidays, family gatherings, embroider, hook rugs, and do crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her daughter in law, Phyllis Christensen; grandchildren, Brent (Heather) Christensen, Sherolyn (Sean) Jennart; great grandchildren; Samantha Brooke Christensen, Steven David Christensen II, Teagan Joy Christensen, Corbin Scott Christensen, Logan Lee Jennart, Joclyn Jean Jennart; great-great grandson, Lucas Christensen; siblings, Jane Brill and Rex Schoonover.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Coral; son, David L. Christensen; grandson, Stephen David Christensen. and infant grandson, Jeffrey Daniel Christensen.
