Milton Hudson, 81, of Rock Island, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Second Baptist Church, 919 6th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be an hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Milton was born in Preston, Miss. on January 2, 1933, a son of Marcus and Gussie Baker Hudson. He married Erma Edwards on September 9, 1961 in Rock Island.

Milton was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He spent two years in England.

Milton worked for 35 years in the shipping department at the Rock Island Arsenal and retired on January 2, 1988.

He enjoyed watching old westerns, playing cards with his family and friends and bowling.

Survivors include: his wife, Erma Hudson, Rock Island; daughters, Marian Hudson, Davenport and Cassandra Hudson, Calumet City, Ill.; grandchildren, Chanel Harris and Samantha Hudson; great-grandson, Kevin Williams; and sisters, Odelia Cotton, Willie (Rev. Levi) Glispie and Helen Carruthers, all of Rock Island, and Delsine Hearst and Christine (Howard) Harrison, both of Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Luther, LT, Sylvester, JB and Charlie Hudson and sister, Lorine Gathright.
