Monte O. Keller, 74, of Illinois City, died Monday, October 7, 2024 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Muscatine.  Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.  A memorial service will be at 11 am Friday, October 11, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan.  Visitation will be from 10-11 am Friday, October 11, 2024 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Monte was born in Muscatine, Iowa on August 20, 1950, a son of Ralph E. and Lila R. Tomlin Keller.  He earned his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University.  Monte married Mary Green on March 22, 1996 in Rock Island, Illinois.

Monte worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 32 years, retiring in 2002.

He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards and in his earlier years, loved traveling.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary Keller, Illinois City; children, Terri (Paul Henderson) Nelson, East Moline, Jason (Tracy Barber) Gedye, Moline and Jennifer (Jeremy) Massie, Milan; grandchildren, Josh, Kailea, Jesse, Jenny, Mayson, Cameron, Kellsie, Tyler, Kaile, Kera, Mallory, Aubrey and Alexa; great-grandchildren, Kai, Emma, Eli, Alana, Jayce, Landon and Charlotte; and siblings, Neal (Barb) Keller, Illinois City and Janis Reddick, East Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Brian Keller.
