Muriel E. Gorter, 81, of Moline, passed away on Saturday, December 12 2015 at her home. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in care of the Alzheimer's Association.

Muriel was born on July 19, 1934 in High Point, North Carolina, a daughter of Cora Warf Holland. She married Jerry Gorter in 1953 in Arlington, Virginia. Muriel and Jerry's marriage was blessed with 3 children. Muriel was a computer analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 30 years. She greatly enjoyed her work and spending time with family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Steven (Cheryl) Gorter, E. Moline, Howard (Sherri) Gorter, Washington and Susan J. Gorter, Alameda, CA; grandchildren, Sarah (Karl) Schenk and Colby and Brie Gorter and one great grandchild, Eli Schenk

She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
