Murley L. Branigan, 75, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Riverwood Rehab, East Moline.  Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harvest Time Family Worship Center, 636 Kirkwood Blvd., Davenport.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Murley was born in Macon, Miss. on January 12, 1941, a son of Philip and Corrine Branigan.  He married Patsy Joe Barnum in 1993 in Rock Island.

Murley enjoyed working on cars, walking and running outside and music.  He loved the river and especially loved his wife, Patsy.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Branigan, Rock Island; children (and spouses), Wayne Branigan, Rock Island, Lisa (Robert) Donaldson, Moline, Kelly (Sylvia) Branigan, Davenport, Terrance Branigan, Davenport, Russell (Cheryl) Cowan, Seagoville, Texas, Maurice Barnum, Rock Island, Cynthia Cowan, Moline, Anthony Cowan, Coleman, Fla. and Keyontey Young, Springfield, Ill.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Russell Branigan, Cynthia Holland, Mamie Taylor, all of Memphis, Tenn., Ann Ivy, Pearl Kent, MaeJewel Johnson, all of Charleston, Mo. and James (Rosemary) Branigan, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Edward Branigan, brother, Sammy Branigan and sister, Lillie Campbell.
