Nancy K. Campos, 72, of Rock Island, passed away Monday November 2, 2015 at Unity Point Health- Trinity, Rock Island.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at The Bridge Church, Milan. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 – 7th Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Nancy was born March 29, 1943 in Davenport, IA, a daughter of Dillon and Marge Vance Wheeler. She graduated from Moline High School in 1961. She married Jesus Campos on November 22, 1963 in Rock Island.
Nancy was a licensed Cosmetologist. In earlier years, she was a stylist at Morry's and Michael's Beauty Salons. She also helped her husband at the family restaurant, Acapulco Café, for many years.
Nancy was a longtime member of New Life Fellowship, Moline. Most recently she was a member of The Bridge Church, Milan, and helped at the Milan Christian Food Pantry. She was active with Samaritan's Purse and Operation Shoebox. She enjoyed caring for and showing horses and dogs and working with ceramics.
Surviving are her husband, Jesus, of Rock Island; sons (and spouses), Jesse (Kathy) Campos, Moline, Sean Campos, Eldridge, and Ty (Beth) Campos, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Bryck, Bryttnee, Tyler, Ellen, Olivia, and one on the way; great-grandchildren, Carter, Cash, Kynlee and Gabriella; sister, Shirley (Ralph) Trout, Tampa, FL; 38 nieces and nephews; 84 great-nieces and great-nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rupert and Sarah Campos, Raymond Jr. and Guadalupe Campos; and Aunt-in-law and Uncle-in-law, Stella and Nick Padakis.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Johnny Johnson, and sisters-in-law, Esther Villareal, Estella Perez, and Maria Elena Campos; and brothers-in-law, Rudy Campos and Rick Campos.
