Nancy L. Scharer, 75, of Rock Island passed away Thursday April 3, 2014 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Ronald McDonald House.

Nancy was born on November 17, 1938 in Dixon, IL, the daughter of Fred A. and Merle (Poole) Cheney. She married Marlin E. Scharer on June 7, 1958 in Moline.

Mrs. Scharer enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She loved her family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include her husband, Marlin; children, Craig and Crystal Scharer, Milan, Debbie Scharer (Lonnie), O'Fallon, MO, Scott Scharer, Orlando, FL., Lori and Tim Hanna, Reynolds; grandchildren, Amber, CJ, Abbey, Bethany, Kathy, Diana, Nick, Mike, Alexander; great grandchildren, Daniel and Carson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Cheney.
