Nancy Kathleen Servine passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on December 28, 2022, at the age of 82.
Nancy was married to her beloved husband, Don Servine, who passed away in 2006. Nancy was born on June 14, 1940, to James A. and Katherine E. O'Brien. She was the youngest of four children and her siblings preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two children, Dean Armstrong and Virginia Armstrong (the late Jeffrey), and her three grandchildren, Natalie, Tristan, and Noah, all of whom were able to celebrate the joy of her life with her before her passing.
She married her first husband Charles Armstrong in 1961, graduated from Augustana college with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1962, raised a family of 2 children and 3 grandchildren, and completed a successful 33-year career as a social worker with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Nancy was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Moline, an avid gardener and yoga fanatic until her death, and a community volunteer with Meals on Wheels, often serving communities years her junior. She loved to travel and traveled extensively on trips across Europe and North America.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Moline. Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting with arrangements.
