Nancy J. Severs, 84, Rock Island, IL passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Kahl Home, Davenport, IA. There will be a visitation from 10-11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial at Davenport Memorial Park.

Nancy was born on June 6, 1940 to Alice (DeSmet) and William Carothers Sr. in Rock Island, IL. On January 27, 1973 she was united in marriage to William Severs in Andalusia. The couple made their home in Rock Island. Nancy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Nancy worked briefly at Trinity Hospital and then later began her career at Dollar General where she was a cashier until her retirement. Nancy also bartended at several places in the Quad Cities including the Town and Country and Rock Island Moose Lodge.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Peter) Leaf; grandchildren, Yvonne (Mike) Lynch and Tyler Leaf; brothers, Robert Carothers and John (Kelly) Carothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and brother, William Carothers Jr.
