Nancy Tady, 76, of Rock Island, IL passed on to her heavenly home on October 23 surrounded by family after a hard battle with cancer. Nancy was born to Ruth L. (Carlin) and Sylvester J. Neu on August 21, 1947, in Davenport, IA. She enjoyed a happy childhood with her parents, sister and brother in Rock Island, IL. As a girl, Nancy attended the Villa de Chantel and is a graduate of Alleman High School class of 1965. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. where she studied speech pathology. Nancy married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Tom Tady on May 13, 1967. She worked as a receptionist In Rock Island for many years before eventually managing all accounting for Tady Landscaping, a family business.
Nancy had a servant's heart and was filled up by her many volunteer roles throughout the years with QC Animal Welfare Center, Women's Choice Center, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Rock Island.
Nancy enjoyed reading, cooking, animals, and a good game of Bridge. She maintained long lasting friendships with many. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, and doted on her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth L. and Sylvester J. Neu; her brother, Thomas C. Neu; her husband, Tom Tady; brother in law, Ronald Tady; sisters in law, Norma Tady and Dianne Peterson. She is survived by her sister, Linda Neu of Middleton, WI; son, Jeff Tady of Rock Island; daughter, Susan (Phil) Siegert of Boulder, CO; and three grandchildren, Lily, Luke, and Gibson Siegert; in-laws, Charles Tady of Andalusia, Marcia Tady of East Moline, Dave Peterson of Tallmadge, OH, Stephen and Anita Tady of Rock Island, Tim and Angie Tady of La Veta, CO, and John and Kelly Tady of Coal Valley.
Additionally, she has left behind a large, loving family of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a community of friends who will miss her dearly.
Services for Nancy will be 10 am, Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
