IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy A
Wagner
November 16, 1942 – October 10, 2024
On October 10, 2024, Nancy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Nancy was born on November 16, 1942, in Evanston, IL, the eldest child of Nat and Marian Salamon. She was raised in Evanston, graduating from Evanston High School in 1960. She then attended nursing school at Presbyterian-St. Luke's hospital in Chicago, becoming an RN. While attending nursing school she met Paul Wagner and they married on June 8, 1963, moving to Rock Island, IL soon afterward.
Nancy loved her career as a nurse, working primarily in the maternity unit at Lutheran Hospital in Moline, IL. She especially enjoyed working with the newborn babies in the nursery.
On January 9, 1977, Nancy was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and joyfully took on the ministry they are well known for. Nancy was an avid student of the Bible and loved to share with others the Bible truths she had learned. She was a member of the Moline congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at the time of her death.
Nancy had an ingrained urge to care for and look after others, which led her to the medical field. Whenever anyone in the family, neighborhood, or congregation was in need of help, particularly medical, she would be there, ready to assist in whatever way she could.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Paul; children and spouses, Paul Jr "Skip" & Tammy Wagner of Aledo, IL, Cara & Lowell Taylor, missionaries in Nigeria, Africa and Amanda Wagner of Elwood, IN; three grandchildren, Jasmine & Trey Ingle, Chad & Keli Wagner and Amber French; 6 great-grandchildren, Tavis, Kira, Sada, Cassie, Jayci and Kenzie; and sister, Donna Bree of Lakewood, CA.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am (central time) on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2767 9th St, Rock Island, IL.
