Obituary

Naomi M. Schlobohm, 88, of East Moline, formerly of Coal Valley, IL, passed away Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26th, at Memorial Christian Church, 1624 Avenue of the Cities, Moline, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date. Arrangments are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Memorial Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Naomi May Allsup was born December 13, 1926 in Rock Island, a daughter of Warren L. and Rhoda V. McCoy Allsup. She was first married to Richard A. Elliott. He preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Rev. William "Bill" G. Schlobohm on August 5, 1983 in Hamlet, IL.
In addition to being a homemaker, Naomi had worked at Servus Rubber, Rock Island, for five years.
She was a member of Memorial Christian Church for over 70 years, where she had served as a Deacon for about 6 years. Naomi also held various offices within the Sunday School program and was active in church activities over the years. She also was a member of the Moline Chapter 258, Order of Eastern Star, the Coal Valley Home Extension Unit, and Coal Valley Social Seniors, where she had served as secretary. In the 1960's, Naomi, served as secretary of the Rock Island County Republican Women.
She also enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and sewing.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. Bill Schlobohm, East Moline; son, Dr. Richard "Rick" W. Elliott, Cut Off, LA; grandson, Richard H. Elliott, Austin, TX; stepson, Kenneth O. Schlobohm, and his wife Irene, Round Lake Beach, IL; step-grandchildren, Kenneth Schlobohm, Jr. and Kristin Schlobohm; one step-great-granddaughter, Melanie; sister, Betty Allsup; brothers, Joseph and John Allsup; and numerous nieces, nephews and additional family.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; son, Stephen H. Elliott; sisters, Wilma Abel, Susan Horn, Emma Jean Swim; and brothers, Charles, Walter, and Frank Allsup.
